Hello and welcome to my blog, a personal journey through the ups and downs of living with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I’m Emily, and here’s my story.

My Early Challenges

My struggle with PCOS began in my teenage years, marked by irregular and painful periods. Birth control was a temporary fix, but it masked deeper issues. In my early twenties, I grappled with cystic acne, debilitating period pain, and a healthcare system that seemed indifferent to my suffering.

The Turning Point

At 20, I was diagnosed with PCOS. Despite this revelation, conventional treatments felt like band-aids, failing to address the root causes. I lost my period for almost 8 months, i was tired all day after sleeping for 10 hours, and i felt sad and hopeless. My health journey took a positive turn when I was 23, as I partnered with a functional medicine doctor. This was a breath of fresh air – a medical professional who listened and aimed to heal the root causes of my PCOS, not just the symptoms.

Feeling Hopeful

My doctor helped me understand the things i needed to change and why i needed to make those changes. I started to realize all of the little bad habits i had that were contributing to my hormone imbalances. I began to do my own research on hormone balancing, PCOS, and women’s health. Once i really focused on my daily habits and slowly made changes, my overall health improved like crazy and i have more energy, less breakouts, and i have gotten my period back!

Since I started learning more and more about what women really need to heal and thrive I have become completely obsessed with this topic.

Healing takes a long time, and i am still on my journey to heal and have balance living with PCOS. But i am here to tell you that it is possible. It’s not normal for you to be tired all day, relying on caffeine, having crazy mood swings, extremely painful periods, and just not feeling well everyday. There are so many things that mess with our hormones, and i’m here to help you bring some balance back into your life.

Beyond Personal Health

I strongly believe that health is one of the most important things in our life. In a world full of environmental toxins and a healthcare system often focused on symptomatic relief, my mission is to empower women to take control of their health. This blog is a testament to that mission – a platform to share knowledge, experiences, and support.
